The Kumars at No. 42

Ever watched a show that is so outrageous, you can't help but wonder how it got greenlit? And then wondered how it became so successful? And then realized that you can't take your eyes off it? Well, that's me and the brassy British comedy, The Kumars at No. 42. The show is about a Anglo-Indian family that has turned their home into a TV talkshow set. The family does group interviews of their celebrity guests, with each family member playing off some Indian stereotype. The mom shoves mountains of food at every guest, and tries to get her son married off. The father is obsessed with money. But the show-stealer is grandma, a friendly woman with a very dirty mind and knack for the inappropriate. The season premiere aired on Friday on BBC America and David Hasselhoff was their first guest. To get a feel for the show, check out this Minnie Driver clip from last season.
